Local context

Plumbing in Bennetts Green: the local picture

Council’s history believes Bennetts Green is named for John Bennett, an early landowner, with an open space giving it the Green. It now has very few homes: the 2021 Census reported no people or a very low population, and council’s Windale area plan calls it a light industrial and bulky goods retailing area. A second retail development, on the other side of the highway, opened on 31 October 2020. Hunter Water requires a Trade Wastewater Deed for any premises that sends non-domestic wastewater to sewer, so plumbing for a new tenancy starts by checking whether its business type needs one.
