Most first-time blocks come from grease and food, hair and soap, wipes, or roots and stormwater silt outside. What causes a blocked drain covers the warning signs and what is safe to try before you call. How fast can you clear a blocked drain?
Most household blockages clear in a single visit with the jetter or the drain machine. If the same drain has blocked before, we will say so on the day and suggest a camera rather than just clearing it and leaving you with the same problem next month.
Do I need a CCTV camera inspection?
Not for a one-off blockage. The camera earns its keep when a drain keeps coming back: it shows whether the cause is tree roots, a bellied or collapsed section, or build-up, and how far along the pipe it sits. That footage turns a guess into a fixed-price repair, and it is yours to keep.
Will jetting damage old pipes?
Pressure is set to the line, not wound to maximum and sent down blind. On an old or suspect line we will camera it first so we know what the jetter is going into. If the pipe is too far gone for jetting, we will tell you and quote the repair instead.
