Gas fitting is its own licence
In NSW you need a licence for any plumbing, draining or gasfitting work, and gasfitting is a separate category from plumbing. Connecting, relocating or replacing a gas appliance is gasfitting work, and it finishes with a compliance certificate.

What it costs
Gas appliance installs and connections run $250–$650 in the price guide, including the compliance certificate. New lines and changeovers are quoted to the run once we have seen the layout.
Recent work
Gas work runs through the week on both LPG and natural gas: cooktops, bayonets, heaters and gas hot water changeovers, each one certified to AS/NZS 5601. Commercial plant is familiar ground too, including twin continuous-flow units on site work. In Mannering Park, we did the gas fitting for twin 45 kg LPG cylinders on an automatic changeover regulator, with the compliance plate fixed alongside.

Can any plumber connect my gas cooktop or heater?
No. In NSW, gas fitting is licensed separately from plumbing, and a plumbing-only operator is not authorised to touch it. Josh holds both licences, so the appliance, the line and the certificate all come from the one tradesperson rather than being subcontracted out.
Do I get a certificate for gas work?
Every time. Any gas job legally finishes with a gas compliance certificate to AS/NZS 5601, issued by the licensed gas fitter who did the work. It is the document your insurer or a settlement agent will ask for, so keep it with the house papers.
Natural gas or LPG, does it matter which I have?
It matters to the appliance and the quote, not to whether we can do the work. Appliances are set up for one or the other, and a changeover means adjusting or replacing the unit, not just swapping the bottle for a pipe. We confirm what the property actually has before pricing anything.
Can you run a new gas line for a cooktop or a BBQ point?
Yes. We run new lines and extend existing ones for cooktops, heaters, bayonet points and outdoor kitchens, sized to the load and pressure-tested before the appliance goes on. The work finishes certified like everything else gas.
