Recent grease-trap work: a shop at Soldiers Beach, in the Norah Head locality, was paying for power to run its pump because stormwater runoff kept getting into the grease trap. The surface levels around the trap were raised so the runoff stops entering the system. We did the job with another plumbing business.

Do you invoice the managing agent or the landlord?
Whichever you are set up for. Jobs for managed properties are invoiced to the managing agent with the detail the file needs: what was done, where, and the compliance paperwork where the work requires it. One point of contact, no chasing three trades for one job.
Can you respond after hours for tenants?
Yes. Burst pipes, sewer overflows and no-hot-water calls for tenants are attended around the clock, and the after-hours rate is agreed on the phone before we head out so there are no surprises on the owner's invoice.
Can you work around trading hours?
Yes. For shops and food businesses, work that would interrupt service is scheduled before open, after close or on a quiet day, agreed when the job is quoted. After-hours call-outs are priced on the phone before we head out, not afterwards.
Do you handle grease traps and trade waste?
Yes, it is work we have done rather than a line on a list. At a shop at Soldiers Beach, the surface levels around the grease trap were raised so stormwater runoff stopped entering the system, which had been running the pump and the owner's power bill for nothing. Trade-waste approval sits with Hunter Water in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle, and with Central Coast Council on the Coast, and the trap goes in to what that approval sets.
What paperwork comes with the job?
Plumbing work is certified to AS/NZS 3500, gas work finishes with the compliance certificate to AS/NZS 5601, and backflow tests are lodged with the water authority, Council or Hunter Water depending on the site. Licence and insurance details are on this page and go out with the paperwork.
