Local context

Woodrising at a glance, for plumbing work

Woodrising’s street names come from Australia II’s 1983 America’s Cup win, chosen while the suburb was being developed. It was originally part of Quigley’s Estate, and the Geographical Names Board set its boundary in August 2001. Council’s history lists a shopping centre with a post office, preschool and Neighbourhood Centre, and a small council wetlands area where Marmong Creek passes through. For a property near that wetland, ask where its stormwater leaves the lot.
