Eleebana’s name is an Aboriginal word meaning peaceful or quiet place, and council’s history calls the Eleebana Point Estate, on land sold to Frank Halloran in 1918, premature subdivision: no road reached Warners Bay or Valentine until 1935. Water came in 1948 and sewerage in 1977, and the big expansion began in 1976 around Glad Gunson Drive, with about 700 allotments by the early 1980s.
