Water, sewer & backflow
Hunter Water supplies water and sewer here, and backflow test reports are lodged with Hunter Water. What the annual backflow test involves
From the older streets to the late-1950s homes on Scenic Drive, we confirm natural gas or LPG at each Merewether address before quoting gas hot water or cooktop work.
Josh holds the gas licence as well as the plumbing licence, so the gas connection and the compliance certificate are part of the same job.
We repair, replace and install gas, electric, heat pump and continuous-flow hot water units in Merewether, and take the old unit away. No-hot-water jobs are attended around the clock.
Common in Merewether
We clear blocked sinks, toilets and sewers in Merewether with the jetter or the drain machine, and put a camera down a drain that keeps blocking.
In Hunter Water’s area the owner looks after the sewer pipes up to where they join Hunter Water’s system, including the boundary trap and inspection shaft. If the inspection shaft is full or overflowing, the blockage may be in Hunter Water’s main, so call Hunter Water on 1300 657 000 (24/7) first.

Merewether is an established beachside suburb of Newcastle with a coal-mining history. Older streets carry Federation and Inter-war cottages and bungalows, while the homes on Scenic Drive date from the late 1950s onward. Our Merewether work so far is a hot water replacement and a bidet seat retrofit. We also handle blocked drains and general bathroom plumbing for Merewether homes. Merewether Beach and its ocean baths sit on the suburb's eastern edge, and Glenrock State Conservation Area borders its southern side.
