Local context

Plumbing in Morisset Park: the local picture

Council’s history entry says most lots in the Morisset Park and Kendall Grange subdivisions went to employees of nearby Morisset Hospital. Charles Avenue and Henry Road were surveyed in 1908, and Lakeview Road, Macquarie Road and Park Avenue were named in 1913. The Bluff, once the actor Bert Bailey’s eighteen-room house, passed to the Brothers of St John of God in 1947, and their trust had a waterfront estate developed in 2006. A house on the 1908 streets and one in the 2006 estate are a century apart in age, which changes what needs checking before plumbing work starts.
