The suburb
The first European land grants around Wyong date to 1825, and the township grew up when the railway arrived in the late 1880s. The 2021 Census counted about 4,500 residents in about 2,100 dwellings. The court house on Hely Street, the race club on Howarth Street and Wyong High School on Alison Road are all in the town itself. Wyong Hospital is not: it is in Hamlyn Terrace.
