The suburb
Warnervale is named after Albert Hamlyn Warner, who acquired the land in 1893. Its railway station opened in 1907 and it was gazetted as a village in 1975. It was large acreages and wetland before the estates around it were built, and it is still small by the numbers: the 2021 Census counted about 700 residents in about 240 dwellings. Porters Creek Public School and Lakes Grammar are both in Warnervale.
