How do I know if my hot water system needs replacing?
The quickest tells are age and leaks. Most tanks last 8 to 12 years, so once yours is past that it is living on borrowed time. A leaking tank should be replaced straight away, it only gets worse. Other warning signs are water that never gets properly hot, runs out fast, comes out rusty, or a unit that rumbles and bangs when it heats. If you have any of those and the unit is older than 8 years, replacement is usually the honest call. Josh confirms it on-site and quotes both repair and replace so you can decide.
Can you replace my hot water system the same day?
Usually, yes. Donza Plumbing carries common gas and electric units, so for a standard storage or continuous-flow swap we can often supply and install the same day and have you back to hot showers that afternoon. Gas hot water has to be installed by a licensed gas fitter, and Josh is one, so the whole job, including the gas compliance certificate, is done in a single visit.
What does a new hot water system cost around our service area?
As a guide, an electric or heat-pump replacement around Australia typically runs $1,200 to $2,500, and a gas storage or continuous-flow unit $1,400 to $3,200, including removal of the old unit.
